New recycling rules that took effect in June 2018.        PDF      DOC

Effective January 24, 2013, Under Act 108, trash haulers will not accept electronic devices as part of the trash stream. This includes answering machines, compact disc players, fax machines, computer hard drives, laptops, mobile phones, modems, microwave ovens, pagers, PCs and peripherals, printers, printer circuit boards, radios, remote controls, stereos, tape players, telephones, televisions, and VCRs. Best Buy (717) 0840-4530) offers free recycling of covered devices. Check with retail outlets prior to delivering items to ensure acceptance and limit of specific items.
The York County Solitd Waste & Refuse Authority also accepts electronic devices free at its facility on Flour Mill Road on Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, and Saturdays 8 AM to noon. See more information here.

Bulky trash collection occurs once a week on Fridays. You are allowed one bulky item per week.
Trash is collected on Tuesday and Friday of each week. Residents are limited to four containers which when filled each container should not weigh more than one man normally can lift onto collection trucks. Recyclables are picked up on Fridays. All trash must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on collection days.  From November 1 through January 31, residents are allowed to place out for collection 2 extra containers (up to a total of six bags each trash day) containing leaves during each of the two weekly pickups. Trash is to be placed behind the curbs, not out in the street, as it interferes with mail deliver, street sweeping and snow plowing. Trash is not collected on the following holidays: Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. When collection falls on a holiday, your collection day will be pushed back a day the week following the holiday.
